TMS Transcranial magnetic stimulation
What is TMS therapy?
TMS is a noninvasive treatment that uses electromagnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells. Since TMS uses repetitive electrical impulses, it’s sometimes called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). The terms are often used interchangeably.
It may improve symptoms of neurological or mental health disorders.
Conditions that TMS may help include:
-
depression
-
OCD
-
anxiety
-
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
-
motor dysfunction due to Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or stroke
-

TMS is FDA-approved to treat depression. It has had success helping people who don’t respond to antidepressant medication and psychotherapy.

There’s also some evidence that TMS may help other conditions, like anxiety and Parkinson’s disease, Migraine headaches, symptoms of autism, mental clarity and focus, and Tinnitus.

For over 40 years patients have been getting TMS therapy and very little side effects have been recorded. TMS is a win win for brain health.
We are excited to be the first in the Venice/ Sarasota area to offer ExoMind

Feel more like yourself again.

Get the job done
What is ExoMind?

Although TMS has been around for 40 years successfully treating patients for mental illness with great success and even treating other symptoms like tinnitus, it has been hampered by insurance regulations. In order to get therapy, patients needed to fail at traditional medications and counselling, sometimes taking years of treatment without relief. Therapy can be 36 days of straight therapy and 1 1/2 hour sessions. It also may not comfortable for all patients. After co pays and medications and trips to therapy, patients can spend upwards to $10,000. So it has not been the first choice available despite how effective it can be for some patients.
ExoMind replaces the older machines and makes them obsolete. The older machines are produced by small companies with limited budgets, making it difficult to pay FDA fees without increased profits. BTL has embraced the challenge to create this life changing device. BTL has taken the technology and updated its usage, making it more comfortable and the treatments condensed. Imagine getting relief in only 3 weeks; two session a week, 36 minutes each. You will be treated for a fraction of the cost of traditional methods of application. This is not covered by insurance.

Relax at our newly renovated facility, ExoMind is painless, it feels more like someone lightly tapping on your head. Many patient feel better and more focused after the first treatment. They describe a feeling of lightness and relaxation. It feels like a cloud has been lifted from their mind. With each session your brain will gain more and more neuroplasticity. What is neuroplasticity?
Taken from What Is Neuroplasticity? How It Works at Cleveland Clinic

Neuroplasticity refers to your brain’s ability to absorb information and evolve to manage new challenges. It’s a natural gift that allows you to develop as a person and take on the ever-changing tasks of daily life.
“Neuroplasticity speaks to the flexibility and adaptability of our brain throughout our life,” explains Dr. Tworek. “It’s how we grow as people.”
So, when you memorize the alphabet as a kiddo, that’s an example of neuroplasticity in action at a young age. Ditto for when you learn how to drive and navigate the streets in your neighborhood.
Even something as simple as remembering the name of a new coworker involves brainwork that falls under the umbrella of neuroplasticity.
Now here’s where things get really nifty: Neuroplasticity actually brings physical changes inside your cranium. In essence, your brain undergoes a sort of rewiring while learning from your experiences.
“Morphological alterations and structural changes occur within our brains,” says Dr. Tworek. “New synaptic connections form between the billions of neurons in your brain as you take in information. It’s a constant process.”
